Location: All over Italy, but primarily from the VenetoIn other words: Beekeeper and bee both travel far. Flavio Piovesan travels all over his home region in the Veneto with a special company of workers: 700 hives of busy bee sweet do-gooders. After fifteen years of doing this he and his bees have come to find some of the best floral hot-spots. The whole season starts off on the Ionian coast of Calabria in April and May, for the orange blossoms. In June and July, they head to the Veneto hills in search of acacia, a flower Flavio claims will calm the head and detoxify the liver. Then bees and beemaker spend their September in the Veneto, gathering the nectar of thousands of flowers to make Miele Fiori and a special honey from Monte Grapa. In other words: The rich, varied colors, textures, and aromas of Apicoltura Piovesan Flavio honeys act as stamps of the Italian countryside, hillside, and seaside. These jars of honey are true tinctures of place. Powered by GMaps and Google
